What is a conference?

A conference is a meeting of people who come together to "confer" about a particular shared topic. It can also be called a convention or a symposium which is a meeting of a, typically large, group of individuals and/or companies in a certain field.

What is conference tourism?

Conference tourism as the name suggests is when a group of thinkers, innovators and entrepreneurs come together for the unified goal of exchanging thoughts and ideas. A conference is a little more specialized and formal than exhibitions are, and a little larger in size than meetings are. Conferences often bring together students, entrepreneurs, traders, investors and decision makers at a formal venue such as a well-equipped business facility. A lot of industries and economic sectors are involved.
