Today morning, we travel through the lush farmland of the Waikato and King Country regions. Drive past Rangiriri, location of the historic Maori Land Wars site. On arrival in the small town of Waitomo, enjoy a guided tour through the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves with their amazing stalactites, stalagmites and other limestone formations. We finish the tour with a silent boat ride through the Glowworm Grotto - a subterranean cavern lit up by the lights of thousands of tiny glowworms. Transfer from hotel in Rotorua to hotel in Wellington, en route visit Lake Taupo to Turangi.This morning, travel south to reach the popular lake resort of Taupo and along the shores of Lake Taupo to Turangi, before continuing on the Desert Road dominated in the background by the three peaks of Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe and Tongariro. Later continue south through lush farmland before arriving in the 'Capital City' of Wellington.Wellington is the Capital of New Zealand is a cosmopolitan city with the most spectacular skyline of all major cities in New Zealand.On arrival into Wellington, proceed to hotel and check in.Rest of the evening is free at leisure. Today you will transfer from hotel to airport in Wellington for your flight to Queenstown. A morning flight is recommended to allow time to explore Queenstown at leisure in the afternoon. Transfer from hotel in Queenstown to hotel in Christchurch, en route visit Mt. Cook and the Church of the Good Shepherd. Today morning, we transfer from Queenstown to Christchurch. Drive through the central Otago region, to the small town of Twizel and continue north following the shores of Lake Pukaki to Mount Cook. This is the highest peak of New Zealand with a landscape of glacier fed alpine lakes. Proceed to visit the Church of the Good Shepherd at Lake Tekapo. Marvel at this small picturesque church before travelling across the Canterbury Plains to arrive in the Garden City of Christchurch. Discover Christchurch on a guided city tour. This morning proceed on a city tour of Christchurch. The tour covers highlights including the botanical gardens, Museum and Art Centre, the Avon river, Bridge of Remembrance, the cities new pop up container mall and many other CBD highlights. Then travel to Mona Vale an historic homestead and gardens. Up to the Sign of the Takah, Canterbury Plains and the Southern Alps, then over the Port Hills to the Port of Lyttleton, through the harbour tunnel before returning to the central city where the tour will conclude.
