Initially you have to reach Delhi and this is the starting point of your travel. You have to move from your destination to the Delhi international airport. Once your flight arrives, you will be received from the airport by our representative. On arrival at the Delhi airport, we pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the hotel for the night stay. You will be transferred to the hotel for some relaxation and overnight stay. The next day you will be moving to Leh.
Today morning you will be flying from Delhi to Leh. After finishing your breakfast at the hotel, we pick you up from the hotel to the airport. Then, you will fly from Delhi airport to Leh airport. This travel is more spectacular as you will enjoy the view of high snow filled peaks and you will land at the Leh airport covered with mountains on both sides. Once you arrived at the Leh airport, we will pick you up to the hotel for check-in. As, it is situated at above 10, 0000 feet acclimatizing yourself is necessary so that you can enjoy your trip.
Check-in to the hotel and relax yourself for the first half of the day. Then, before starting your trek go out for a walk in Leh. You can enjoy your lunch at some of the resorts in Leh, go to the leh market. In the evening, try some traditional Ladaki bread and Ladaki butter milk tea. After enjoying the rest of your day in Leh, return back to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Your markha valley trekking starts from Leh. We will arrange you a jeep for depart from Leh. After breakfast, from Leh drive to the Spituk Bridge that is behind the Spituk monastery (7 kms). From the bridge start trekking along river Indus while walking through the Stok mountains. Slowly move towards the wilderness of the Himalayas, leaving the site of the Leh-Srinagar highway. The trek will continue along the old un-metalled roads into the dried region of Leh. After trekking through this way, we will reach the Zingchen valley. Here the Rumbak River flows into the Indus valley. You arrive at Zingchen through a gorge where you stay in a camp overnight.
Start for Rumbak through Zingchen moving on a straight road. Now you will be entering the Hemis national park and you will get an excellent finding of a Ladakhi Ural or Arghali and other wildlife. You get an opportunity to see different wildlife beings like Ladakhi Ural (a type of goat), Arghali (great Tibetan sheep), Bharal (blue sheep), red fox, Tibetan wolf, dhole (wild dog), marmot and mountain hare etc in the Hemis national park. It is popular for being home to wolf, snow leopard, Baharal, marmot etc. While walking on a slim path you will reach Rumbak where you will be setting a camp at Yurutse (below Gandala Pass). Overnight stay at the camp.
This day you will take quite big travel. If it is first time in crossing the wonderful Himalayas, you will be filled with excitement. Follow the mountain path from Yurutse, crossing a valley while on a zig-zag route. Once you cross the Gandala pass (4380m). You will enjoy the views of Himalaya range and Zanskar range along the trek. Walk downwards to reach Shingo and finally you will reach the Markha valley, 100 m to which is Skiu. Night halt in tents.
The next day you will trek to Skiu from Ganda La base through Ganda la. We head up towards the east to reach the Markha valley from Skiu. From here walk on the right bank of Markha viewing its vegetation, after crossing which you pass a barren land too and reach Chaluk. Move a little along the left side of the bank, and finally climb towards the Markha village. This is the largest village in the Makha valley and it contains nearly 20 houses. At the end of the village, there camps are set near the river for an overnight stay. You enjoy your night stay in the village camps.
The trail continues the next day by passing a ruined castle, old stone-mills and the monastery of Techa. You will intersect by the river along your path many times before cutting through the final hamlets in the Markha valley. Then you will cross the Umlung village and continue to trekking to reach Tchatchutse through Hankar village. Then we will halt at the tents to spend our Night.
After breakfast, you begin your trek journey to reach Nimaling (4900m). You will enjoy this beautiful plateau during your trekking. This place has a green pasture where during summers, you can spot thousands of sheep, goats and yaks grazing. This highest trek gives us a spectacular view of the gigantic peaks of Kang Yatse. Towards the south is Kang Yatse (Nimaling Peak) (6400m). Overnight stay in tents.
On this day, we will start trekking towards Kongmaru La (5100 m), after breakfast. The top of the pass offers a view of the Ladakh ranges and villages to the north of Indus valley. It gives us an excellent view of the Ladakh range and Indus valley. Progress to Shang for an overnight in tents.
Start walking downwards to visit the Hemis monastery, one of the oldest and the richest monasteries in Ladakh. Later drive to Leh, on the way visiting Thiksey Monastery, Shey Palace and Stok Palace and museum
After reaching Leh, you will spend the full day at Leh and relax yourself. You can go for a walk in Leh streets again and spend your night at the hotel. You can go for shopping and purchase something from the Leh market. Then, go for your dinner to any Leh hotel and spend your evening. Then, return back to the hotel and overnight stay at the hotel. You will be taking to the Delhi airport tomorrow for your travel.
The next day you will be taken to the Delhi airport by our representative. After the breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to airport to board flight to delhi. You will take your flight to your destination.
