Today, drive to Kausani, about 6000 ft above sea level. It is a tiny and serene hill-station famous for its well-preserved natural beauty and 250 km wide views of the Himalayan snow-peaks. Today, proceed for a half day sightseeing tour of Kausani, visiting places like Baijnath Temple and the Anashakti Ashram.Baijnath Temple is situated on the banks of the Gomti river, 19 km away from Kausani. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Baijnath temple was built thousands of years ago and can still be admired for its carvings and sculptures. The exterior walls of the temple have numerous alcoves with images of Gods and Goddesses from Hindu pantheon.Later, proceed to Anashakti Ashram, a peaceful place in Kausani famous for the stay of Mahatma Gandhi, for two weeks in 1929. Also known as Gandhi Ashram, this place was described by Gandhi Ji himself as the Switzerland of India. In the same place he practised Anasakti Yoga. There is a small prayer room in the ashram where prayers are held every morning and evening. The rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight in Kausani.
Today, drive to Ranikhet to visit the Chaubatia Gardens, which boasts of more than 200 exotic varieties of fruits and flowers. Drive past the Kalika Estate and Ranikhet Golf Course, one of the highest golf courses of Asia. Later, proceed to Corbett. On arrival, check in to the hotel. The rest of the day is free at leisure.
